The Association of Food Economists (AFE), organized under the umbrella of the American Association of Wine Economists (AAWE), is dedicated to encouraging and communicating economic research and analyses and exchanging ideas in food economics. The term food is broadly interpreted and relevant topics comprise, but are not limited to, issues related to restaurant economics, sensory evaluation, expert opinion, appellations, food safety and health, marketing, and supply chain management.
AFE contributes to the Journal of Wine Economics with regular “Food Symposia” as well as to the Annual AAWE Meetings with Food Economics Sessions. In addition, food-related research is regularly published in the AAWE Working Papers.
